Oops I did it again...

Turns out, I'm not very good at keeping up with a blog. I'll try a bit harder. This month is suuuuper busy at work, so not a whole lot of time. Lets see...last week was pretty fun. Flew out to Chicago Friday with my best friend- on Friday we caught up with Bird and went on a cold Chicago night stroll, did a little window shopping in Lincoln Park, went back, got ready and went to a birthday dinner with Lindsey's co-worker Sarah. Ummm cutest girl EVER! Place was good, a little expensive though. Then we shimmied over to Social 51 or 25, I can't remember what number it is. Cool hip club downtown Chicago- had a Kanye West cover band- but he basically covered everything from Journey to Usher. Lots of dancing! Drinks weren't strong, aaaand they were $8 each! Gross. My bank account is still mad at me from that night. My body was too- that night I broke out in hives everywhere. I had this happen once when I was around Tyler's dog, Snoop. He just had a flea bath and I had the same reaction. I had to go to the dr to get a steroid shot- so I was NOT looking forward to seeing hives, because I knew I'd either be miserable, or have to take a trip to the ER. Boo. Amy and I took a cab home around 1, and I woke up at 5 AM in a panic because hives were everywhereeeee. Took a cold shower and cried and went back to sleep. Here's a couple cute pictures from the night!

Pictures are of me, Bird and Amy!

Sooo next day was a late start (because Bird got in late, and I was too busy with my hives!) We went to Cooba for brunch (DElicious!) But I was falling asleep since I was on Benadryl. Good thing was the hives went away- bad thing was I was on a sedative so I fell asleep everywhere! After that we went by Wrigley Field (Bird lives a block away!), saw Clark Street (think 6th street but all geared toward Cubs), then ventured to the Sears Tower. They had 0% visibility, so we decided to come back later, or Sunday to see if the weather would clear up. Here Amy and I are at Wrigley Field, and me with the Harry Carey statue. ("If you were a hot dog, would you eat yourself?"haha)

Do we look cold to you? :) It actually wasn't that bad. Temps rose to upper 30's and 40's! It the dang wind. They don't call it the windy city for nothing....

Well at this point, I broke out in full hives everywhere from my ear lobes to my fingers, knees, toes. Not good. I decided to stay in and not go out with Linds and Ames. I cried I was so sad and miserable I couldn't be with them, and I couldn't get rid of this nonsense hives business! Turns out, it was probably better off. The girls got pretty drunk and were hungover the whole next day. It was so bad, I'm pretty convinced they had something in their drinks, because they were still throwing up well into the next night. I've neeeever seen Amy like that before. So we were supposed to go sight seeing the next day, but both the girls were too sick. Me and Ames went to the Sears tower- again zerrroooo visibility (dang fog) and then Amy couldn't take it any longer and took a cab home. I went to the bean, Millineum Park, and strolled around downtown by myself. Luckily I had my I-pod with me, so I blended in well and didn't look too much like a tourist (until I took my camera out of course!) Here are some pictures from the day!
Sears Tower (great view, eh?), the Bean, Millineum Park, some crazy statue thing (that's actually a water fountain when it's not freezing outside), and the ice skating rink outside the park. I made a friend at the bean with the guy taking my picture- he then proceeded to ask me to take a picture with him....random and super creepy!

Got back to Lindsey's house (3 story huuuuge house by the way and she pays less than I do!) and the girls were still in bed (poor things). Got them up and moving for our dinner reservations and Dream Girls on Broadway! Didn't make dinner at where we originally wanted- but ended up at a yummy tapas place that was fun. After that we RAN to Dream Girls and barely made it- it was awesome, absolutely loved it. After, we strolled around, and went back to the houst to hang out and be goofy. Here are pictures from the rest of the trip.

Then got back Monday and bowled a 123 in my first game (my best by a point!) and a 140!! I was on cloud 9. I told Steve that it needs to be on my tombstone so everyone will remember me by that large feat. :) Tuesday was busy, Court brought me lunch, and I went to get drinks with Eagan after his test, then took care of Steve at night. Today is busier, that's why writing this took me 4 hours! Gah. Dinner and bowling with Eag and Court (and who else) tonight! So excited! Have a wonderful Hump Day!! :)

God is Good

Yesterday, well scratch that, this WEEK has been rough. No real reason except I'm freaking out about fundraising for TNT (my marathon) and work has been super stressful this week. Doesn't help when my alarm pooped out and I've been late 3 days this week. Well, last night I decided to take a last resort and make a Facebook invite to let my friends know. I hate getting these, let alone doing them! I hate, HATE asking people for money. I talked to my sweet father and he helped me calm down and said to say a prayer and let God take over it. 20 minutes later I got an email update that someone had donated...$250!!! My sweet friend, Mike Ramirez, selflessly went above and waaay beyond to donate to something he also believes in. I have to admit it was through the power of prayer and there's no way I would have been able to do it with God. Little by little, it's starting to look better. I know I'll have to kick some of my own money in too, but that was expected, and I want to. Then to make things better, I got a surprise visit from Steven! I love surprises. I don't love when he accidently knocks over my glass of wine...:)

Yesterday was pretty boring other than TNT stuff, and some online training! This is what I was staring at all night long...only 3 more chapters to go! Thank goodness!

Ok, well today is a big day (I got to school reeeallly early) because we have walk throughs and observations today, but it's a B day so it's just crazy hectic. I just have to get through today though, but then it's basically the weekend! A little more training tonight, hopefully some fun, then FRIDAY! David's making lunch for me and Katie at school, then I'm puppy sitting this weekend! I promise to have more exciting pictures to post than computer screens and vitamins.

Have a wonderful day!

Oh, and if you want to donate to a GREAT cause, here's my website :)

Yesterday didn't count. I'll blog, but no pictures. It was a horrible, no good, very bad day (that ended good) but I would prefer to erase it from my memory. :) So far today-- my alarm didn't go off AGAIN...but I have a half day, so it's OK. And we bought tickets to Aggie Basketball for Feb. That makes me a happy panda. Alright, more later.

Monday on a Tuesday

Yesterday was a great day, but today is NOT starting off well. I have to make this quick. I woke up TWO HOURS after I was suppossed to, and I was late to work. Good thing I have 1st period off! I'm sneezing my head off, and I'm going to have one of the busiest days everrrr. Blah. Looking forward to this afternoon seeing Hanna and going to practice. This is the only picture I took yesterday...it's from my phone. I had to go to Walgreens and get some joint vitamins because I could baaaarely run yesterday, I almost cried. It's not pain so much, but just stiffness. Very frustrating. Hopefully this will help. I mean, it better, I have to run like 5 miles tonight and I don't see how that's possible if my legs were working like they were last night.

Weekend Warrior

I don't know why that's the title of my blog today, but deal with it. Every Monday I make my students "blog" about their weekends, and lookie here, I'm doin' the same!

Was a pretty low key weekend for Ms. C. I am doing pretty well sticking to my no drinking rule. I did have a mimosa at brunch on Sunday- but it was for a celebration! Sweet Anna Beth's birthday. Ok, let me get back to Friday...

Friday I met Courtney's parents, and we went to dinner at Manuel's in the Arboretum. Yum! I had my usual nachos and it was a plesant little super. Meanwhile, across town, Brooke, Jason, Hanna, Jeff, David and Steven went to a free hot yoga class. I really wish I could have seen this in person, but the text I got from Steve that said "Yoga can go to hell" pretty much sums up how he and Jeff felt about it. Fu and I are going to try and make this Friday's class...should be interesting! After din I met up with Heidi, Whit, Marcus and Al to do a little bowling. Funny as it is, an hour earlier, I found out that I'm going to be playing in the Austin Sports and Social league this spring. So this was a good time to work on my game- which is NONE. I havent really bowled since HS, and even then we had bumpers, or I was looking at a solid 60's or 70's range...but in my frist game I bowled a 122! That was by far the highest I ever got. Second game...eh, not so much. Here's our (me and Whit) excited faces with our scores, and Alison's not so excited score with her 52 haha. After 2 games, I went home, read in bed and fell asleep.

Saturday, I wish I took pictures. I woke up at 7:30- too late to run with TNT, but enough motivation to run bymyself...until I saw the thermometer...18 degrees! Holy crap. I bundled up some (not toooooo much) and went for a pleasant 7 mile jog. I forgot my ipod, so I had no idea what time it was, or no sound to keep me busy. Most times I would have gone CRAZY, but it was so peaceful out on Town Lake...nobody was there, parts were frozen over, it was just perfect. I really, really enjoyed myself. My knee, however, did not feel the same way. Son of a B, this is going to be an  obstacle in my running.

After that, I slept like a baby, met with Paul to work on swim team stuff, watch the Ags BTHO out of Nebraska, and made my way downtown. Went to Shoal Creek Saloon with a big group to watch the Cowboys game! How exciting, glad they got their first after season win since '96! That's nuts. In the 4th quarter, me, Al and Eagan went to go see Avatar in 3D at the IMAX. Such a cool movie. The story line and plot were a little dense, but the special effects were amazing. It was my first 3D movie, and I hope it's not my last!

Lastly on Sunday I went to Anna Beth's birthday lunch at Max's Wine Dive (DEE-licious, and the picture below), then studied all afternoon with Fu and Court, and finally got to see Steve later at night.

Twas a relaxing weekend, and a great one as well. Next weekend should be filled with puppy sitting (!!!) and swimming (!!!) and Aggie basketball!!! :)

Poor Texas

I know I'm suppossed to be anti-ut, and if I'm not, I'm a 2%er, bad Aggie, bandwagon fan, or I don't know what "rivalry" means. Screw that. I live in one of the best cities in the world, and just so happens to be home of the longhorns. A school, may I add, I once upon a time wanted to go to. My heart has and always will belong to A&M. Having said that, I was rooting for Colt McCoy and the Longhorns last night. I don't feel like I have to justify my reasons, I just want to cheer on the Big 12, and my city. Honestly, I watched about 2/3 of the game, and that's being generous. I really don't care, I just wanted a good game. I felt bad for McCoy though. Anywho....

I was more excited to see some of my lovely friends I hadn't seen in a while. The boys' had people over for probably the last time before they move out :(  It was a good time, with a bunch of people I like to have around :) Here are some of my favorite pictures from the night...

the girls, minus a few! (and paige and her brownie haha)

Bailey reminding us that even though he's wearing a Texas sweatshirt, he's an Aggie underneath!

Fu and Al looking HAWT.

Paige, Paige's brownie, Heidi, and Annabeth!

Noland, Hayes, Crystal, Bob and Shawn chattin' away in the kitchen!

Marcus and Steve listening like little girls at a slumber party!

In case you didn't hear the 14 announcements that Anna Beth made about her icecream and brownies, here's a visual!

J. Lo and Gollum...!?!

Eagan (Han's new bf) tryin' to be like me

Not really sure...LB and Dave doing the gator chomp?

Overall, a wonderful fun Thursday night, and a sleepy Friday morning for meeee. The weekend ahead- yoga tonight with friends, Avatar 3D after, SWIM TEAM stuff Saturday! :), Andi time and then who knows. Hopefully spending time with Court and Hanna. Sorry for the overflow of pictures this time, I gave David my camera last n ight and no joke, he took 300 pictures. At least some of them turned out good!

Have a blessed day and WEEKEND!! :)

Let's try this again, eh?

I blogged so much in college...I don't know why I don't anymore...but I am really horrible at it. Ah well, new year, new DECADE! Time to document my wonderfully, crazy vida.

The other night I was at Lustre Pearl (new favorite bar in Austin) with some great friends, and we were talking about highs and lows of 2009. Overall, I think 2009 was a great year. I faced some hard life decisions, fell in love, got heartbroken, and fell way back into love with my city, and my wonderful group of friends. I really, truly look forward to 2010 with a positive attitude. I have a new job, new position, and new outlook on love and life. Cheers.

2010 will start out with a bang- Chicago trip with my best friend** Amypants in January, skiing with my Austin friends in February, NY (again!) in March. I got the travel bug for sure. Hopefully late summer I can travel overseas as well. I'm ready to explore more. It all may become a reality soon enough- I turned in all my paperwork for DoDEA, so now to wait. I hate waiting. If I get this opportunity, it is sure to change my life. I'm excited :)

Here's the first picture of 2010...I thought that I would try that 365project.org thing, but on my own blog, so I could document it more. I thought I would put my first two pictures of two of the boys I care about most in Austin. First one is of me and David- getting ready for NYE. The second, is of me, and my favorite Steven on top of a building downtown Austin. We were on our way to a New Years party (hence the alcohol in tow and snazzy get up). What a wonderful way to start the new year...more to come! :)

Texas and Alabama are playing for the nat'l championship tonight, I hope to have some great pictures tomorrow! Hate to say it, but I'm rootin' for TEXAS! Go Big 12

** edited to call Amy my best friend instead of "wifey" because my mom said it sounds like I'm a lesbian. Happy now? :)
